Assisting in Employment Services

Training on the Job (TOJ) allows youth to learn vital employment skills on a one-to-one basis.

The program includes:

  • Resume and cover letter writing training
  • Access to job boards
  • Coaching on interviewing skills
  • Casual labour/paid jobs

The goal of TOJ is to provide youth with the tools and knowledge to help them obtain a job.

Eligibility

  • Ages 15 to 30
  • Currently unemployed and looking to return to work
  • Wanting to start your career but are facing barriers with employment
  • Needing help and don’t know where to start

Work experience

There is a possibility of entering into work experience integrated with TOJ.

Participants will have the opportunity to put into practice what they are learning in training.The work experience will take place in a variety of industries with the focus of skill development.

  • Resume and cover letter building
  • Interview skills
  • Access to job board
  • One-on-one coaching to meet certain goals
  • Job skill development as needed
  • Access to Work Experience program
  • Access to computers to complete and print resumes
  • Employment opportunities through day labour
